The STEP into Healthcare (Skills Training for Entry-level Positions in Healthcare) Program is a free training for intermediate-advanced English language learners seeking full-time entry-level employment in the healthcare industry. The training includes:
- Skills for communicating with patients, visitors, and colleagues
- English for work
- Computer and phone skills
- Job search and interview practice
- One-on-one help every week with finding and keeping a job
- OHSA-10 training and certification
- Eligible students may receive up to 4 monthly T-passes
This program will help you learn how to work with customers, get a full-time job, and take your first step into building your career in the U.S. Past graduates have secured jobs in retail, hospitals, supermarkets, hospitality, and more.
Location:
Schedule:
- Monday-Thursday, 9:45 am – 1:15 pm, for 12 weeks
- Start dates in July, November, and March
- 3 hours of homework and 16 hours of class each week
- 1 hour of 1 on 1 career counseling each week
Requirements:
- Live in Greater Boston area
- Low-income
- Available to work 30 or more hours pre week
- Non-native English speaker with intermediate English
