Mission, Vision, & Values
Our Mission
is to ensure that the children, youth, and families we serve have the resources and supports they need to achieve greater economic success and social well-being.

Our Vision
is that:
- Families and individuals are self-sufficient
- Children have opportunities for school success
- Families are strong, healthy, and safe
- Neighborhoods are strong and cohesive
BCNC believes that everyone has enormous potential to thrive, and that when everyone is able to participate fully in society and succeed, all of society benefits.

Our Values
represent the deepest beliefs and highest aspirations of BCNC and our mission:
Families at the Center
We believe in a holistic approach that builds on families’ and individuals’ strengths and supports their social-emotional, mental, and economic well-being. We recognize families are supported best when appreciation and respect are shown for their uniqueness and complexities, whether in their composition, economic status, racial and ethnic background, immigration history, or in the values, beliefs, and practices they follow.
The Collective Power of Community
We believe our community is stronger when we work together. We value collaboration with individuals, families, community organizations, and other partners to draw on collective strengths and respond to changing community needs. We recognize the power and potential of our constituents and provide spaces for them to build their own communities, where they can connect to and learn from each other.
Empowerment
We envision a future where individuals, families, and communities fully embrace their resiliency, independence, and self-advocacy, and support others in reaching their highest potential.
We believe in engaging constituents and staff in learning, growth, and development at all ages and abilities, empowering them to shape their own and their communities’ futures.
Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging
Our families, community, and staff experience systems of oppression and their complex intersections in different and evolving ways. We honor the breadth of identities, experiences, abilities, and languages that constituents and staff bring to BCNC, and we are committed to cultivating a culture that is responsive to these evolving differences. We believe that continuous learning and self-reflection are essential to building an equitable and inclusive BCNC community
