Remembering Eileen Heng (1946-2020)
BCNC fondly remembers Eileen Bik-York Heng (1946 - 2020). Eileen served as accountant, finance director, party planner, mentor, and top chef at BCNC for over 30 years. Eileen was instrumental in setting up strong accounting systems for the agency, in the the transition from Quincy Community School Council to Boston Chinatown Neighborhood Center, and in the negotiation and planning of the 38 Ash Street site, BCNC’s permanent home. She will also be remembered for her endless positive energy and care for the BCNC family, that she demonstrated through her amazing cooking, planning of birthday lunches, and staff and volunteer appreciation events. She extended her accounting expertise to support other community agencies through BCYF and CMAC. After retiring from BCNC, Eileen and her family, daughter Sharmaine and husband Gerald, continued to be dedicated and generous supporters of BCNC. To show her continued care for the community, her family has chosen to make a gift in memory of Eileen and have asked in lieu of flowers or gifts that donations can be made to BCNC at https://bcnc.net/donate
