The children in the BCNC Red Oak After School & Summer Program have been busy exploring arts this year with a new curriculum. Research shows that by engaging in arts, children improve in academic skills, social-emotional development, and language development. Children ages 5 - 12 years old from working families have been:

  • Learning percussion and drumming,
  • Creating visual art to study ornithology (birds),
  • Learning about music and social movements, and
  • Designing cityscapes from recycled materials.

To prepare for April Vacation Week, we are in need of new art supplies for 85 children by Friday, April 13, including drums, paints, headphones, paper and poster board, and more. A gift of just $15 will help buy supplies for 1 child. Will you make a gift of $15, $30, or $60 to help our children participate in the arts?
