1969: Quincy School Community Council (now BCNC) founded

BCNC, formerly the Quincy School Community Council (QSCC), was created in 1969 by residents, parents and community leaders to have a voice in the design of the Josiah Quincy Elementary School located in Chinatown. When the Josiah Quincy Elementary School complex opened in 1974, Boston Community Schools designated QSCC as the administrator of the community school programs at the new facility.
