2005: 38 Ash Street building, BCNC’s permanent site completed

Following a successful capital campaign in 2003, BCNC opened its new 20,000-square-foot building at 38 Ash Street in the summer of 2005. The five-story facility features a courtyard playground, rooftop garden and play area, a child care center, youth center, computer lab, classrooms, offices, and community meeting spaces. BCNC surpassed its fundraising goal, raising a total of $2.8 million to bring this vital community hub to life.

38 Ash Street is the first green building in Chinatown. In 2006, US Green Building Council certified the Center with a Silver Rating for successfully meeting the sustainable building design and performance standards under the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System.
