Kathy Cheng (she/her)

Kathy Cheng has been the Director of the Acorn Center for Early Education and Care at BCNC since 2007. Kathy oversees program operations, staff supervision, curriculum development, family engagement, and compliance with state regulations. Under her leadership, the center has maintained high-quality services, secured Universal Pre-K funding, and successfully navigated National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) accreditation.

Kathy previously served as Assistant Director at the Acorn Center, playing a key role in curriculum development and staff training. She also worked as a Bilingual Family Worker and Educational Specialist, supporting families and developing bilingual educational resources.

Kathy holds a BS in Education and Humanities and a Master of Education in Bilingual Early Childhood Education from Lesley University. She was the Featured Educator for Word Class Instruction and Design Assessment (WIDA) in December 2014. She is also a member of National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).
