250 Ran and Walked to Celebrate Strong Families
October 28, 2025
On Saturday, October 25th, 250 runners, walkers, and supporters gathered at Merrymount Park in Quincy for BCNC’s 3rd Family Fun Run & Walk for a vibrant morning filled with movement, connection, and generosity. From the Kids Dash to the scenic 5K route, the event brought together community members of all ages to raise $13,000 and support youth leadership programs, adult English classes, and mental health support services for Asian and immigrant families.

The day kicked off with free stretching sessions hosted by Stretch ‘N Motion, followed by a Kids Dash and the 5K race. Participants enjoyed coffee from La Colombe, seltzer from Sanzo, Powerade, and giveaways from Boston Legacy FC. Families and teams posed at the photobooth and met Woodgy, the mascot of the New England Free Jacks. We were especially excited to welcome young runners from Francis W. Parker Elementary School’s Run Club. This collaboration marks an exciting step forward in expanding BCNC’s reach and impact in the South Shore community. Attendees also bid on the silent auction that included items from generous local businesses. The event concluded with raffle prizes from local Quincy businesses including Abby Park | Novara and Capella Yoga & Wellness, merch bags from La Colombe, and a Liam Hendricks Autographed Baseball from the Boston Red Sox.
