Providing a Full-Day Learning Hub
BCNC Red Oak currently provides a full-day, in-person program for children ages 5-13. For working immigrant families, children receive academic assistance for virtual learning as well as arts enrichment.
Through visual arts and music classes, children engage in creative expression to improve their academic skills, social-emotional development, and language development. This year children are learning about classical Chinese culture, language, and how to play the guqin (a traditional Chinese zither. Children learned to say and write the Chinese characters for “thank you” along with their paintings of portraits to show their gratitude.
Red Oak staff and students will perform guqin at the Light the Way Open House on October 27th from 5:30 – 7:30 pm at Pao Arts Center.
