Red Oak After School & Summer Program provides families with licensed out of school time child care for children ages 5-13 during both the school year and summer. Red Oak promotes children’s growth through literacy and arts education in a multicultural and multilingual environment. *Boston only.

Who:     Children ages 5 - 13 years old

Where:  Josiah Quincy Elementary School, 885 Washington Street and BCNC, 38 Ash Street, Boston

What:     Arts Enrichment Classes, Literacy Activities, Outdoor Games

Sample After School Schedule:

  • 4:00 pm - Homework + Literacy Activity

  • 5:00 pm - Outdoor Games or Gym

  • 5:30 pm - Snack

  • 5:40 pm - Arts Enrichment

Through visual arts and music classes, BCNC engages children in creative expression to improve children's academic skills, social-emotional development, and language development.Through engaging literacy activities and projects, BCNC supports children to become critical thinkers with strong reading and writing skills, as well as reflective citizens that can come to a greater understanding of themselves and the world around them. 

Sample Arts Classes include: City Arts, Drumming, Taichi, Social Movements Through Art, Zine-making

Cost and Enrollment: BCNC uses a sliding fee scale and has both private tuition and publicly subsidized slots.
