How can creativity be used to enhance mental wellness? Featuring local artists, Juan Chen and Nia Duong.  Together we will explore ways to care for ourselves and each other through interactive movement, music, and creation.

Nia Duong believes that art making is an important communicative tool to carry out personal narratives. Her ongoing work focuses on the struggles and triumphs of women of color, particularly Asian American women. Nia’s area of interest is using fibers and textiles as a medium of choice. She currently is living and working as a freelance artist in Dorchester.

Juan Chen believes that arts provided a different way for people to connect and communicate; to construct or deconstruct beliefs; to cure and to grow. Her ongoing work focuses on mental health; identities; interactive arts and arts as a process and experience. She currently is living and working as a music therapist, clinician in outpatient services and freelance artist in Boston area.
