Through arts, culture, and education, the Pao Arts Center brings together community members across generations to reclaim a critical piece of Chinatown history and to create healthy families and vibrant communities. In partnership with Bunker Hill Community College, BCNC opened the Pao Arts Center in 2017 to be Chinatown’s first community-based arts center and Boston’s newly dedicated Asian American and Asian immigrant cultural space.
Every year, Boston's Chinatown hosts the biggest Lunar New Year parade in New England with troupes of colorful lion dance dancers ringing in the new year. At the Pao Arts Center, families can enjoy the Lunar New Year with creative and artistic activities, such as calligraphy demonstrations, storytelling activities, and lion dance workshops for kids.
Over 400 people come to the Pao Arts Center for the Lunar New Year. Our staff are helping families engage with culture and community, participate in the arts, and create lasting memories.
A gift of $500 can help pay for one workshop. A gift of $10 will support 1 family to celebrate the New Year through arts and culture.
Will you help us raise $2,500 to support our immigrant families and community arts programming?
