Spend your Monday afternoons dabbling in creativity with a refreshing course that introduces contemporary use and techniques of Chinese Ink and Watercolor.
The four-class series meets on Mondays, June 4, 11, 18, & 25 from 2:00-3:30pm.
Materials will be provided.
This series is partially funded to provide affordable arts classes to the community. These are pay what you can classes. The suggested contribution for each class is $50 to cover the expenses, however participants are invited to pay what you can. Contributions will support arts programming and Asian and Pacific Islander American artists.
About the Artist: Chris Chou is a painter with roots from Taiwan who has found a home in Boston. Chris completed her B.A. at the National Taiwan Academy of Art and her M.F.A. at Boston University's College of Fine Arts. Her educational background has also been enriched by having completed programs at Kapiolani College, New York Studio School of Drawing, Painting and Sculpture, and the Office of the Arts at Harvard University. Chris's teaching experience includes Boston University's College of Fine Arts, Scuola Internazionale di Grafica, National Dong Hwa University, Central Academy of Fine Arts, and the Art Institute of Boston. Chris has won numerous awards and recognitions for her work-- including the Guggenheim's Fellow Award in 2007. The Mayor's Gallery Boston City Hall is among one of the places she has had the honor of hosting solo exhibitions. The color red--in particular-- is a trademark to the vitality that painting has marked her life.
Directions: The Pao Arts Center is located in the One Greenway building, 99 Kneeland Street. For GPS driving directions, use 66 Hudson Street, Boston, MA 02111. From Hudson Street, walk up the stairs and across the deck to the 99 Albany Street entrance. The public parking garage entrance is on Hudson Street. The Pao Arts Center is accessible by the MBTA Green, Red, and Orange lines.
