The Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as the Moon Festival or Mooncake Festival, is a traditional festival celebrated in Chinese culture. Similar holidays are celebrated in Japan (Tsukimi), Korea (추석), Vietnam (Tết Trung Thu), and other countries in East and Southeast Asia.
Mooncake is the indispensable dessert pastry served during the Mid-Autumn Festival. The sharing and eating of round mooncakes among family members during the week of the festival signifies the completeness and unity of families.
Did you know you can make them easily and even your children can help you with? Making mooncakes is a great way for you and your family to bond over a delicious dessert. It’s also a great way for you to teach your children about Asian culture.
This free event is facilitated by Family Services and we look forward to seeing you on September 25th!
