Congratulations to our Summer 2019 ESOL Graduates!
/This past Friday, Adult Education ESOL had six graduates complete their customer service trainings and receive their certificates. Our graduates trained for 20 hours per week for 3 months: they took tours at job sites, called managers for job information, took notes as secret shoppers, and went to job and resource fairs. Each graduate gave a speech and shared stories on immigrating to the United States, learning English, making strides in their careers, and their future dreams.
This program is funded by the Neighborhood Jobs Trust and held in partnership with the Mayor’s Office of Workforce Development (OWD). We would also like to thank Bank of America and the Attorney General’s office for providing speakers and presentations for our students; State Representative Aaron Michlewitz for visiting our class in March; and Katy Gall, Deputy Director for Workforce and Policy in the OWD for speaking at graduation!
