English Learners Graduate Virtually

Adult Education celebrated 313 graduates with a virtual ceremony. The interactive graduation on Zoom, with English, Chinese and Spanish translation, included speeches from CEO Ben Hires, students, student awards, appreciation to volunteers and slideshow and videos of memories from the year.

Alli, a graduate from the Quincy Level 1 class, shared her story about how she found BCNC over a year ago from an international student who was sitting next to her on the plane she took on the way to the United States. She also shared great appreciation for her teachers and confidence in her accomplishments:

When I lived in China, I never spoke Chinese in front of many people, but 11 months after I came to the United States, I am speaking English in front of all of you. I'm happy and surprised to see how I have changed, and I believe all of you can see your changes too. Thank you very much BCNC for giving us such a good learning environment for free. I will cherish it and continue to study hard.
