BCNC Portrait: Stephen Hunter

Meet Stephen Hunter, BCNC’s Director of Adult Education and Workforce Initiatives Program. Stephen was with BCNC as an advisor working with immigrant adults to get jobs, then worked at the State House as a Legislative Director, taught automotive career education at Asian American Civic Association (AACA), spent 10 years collectively in China teaching English and finally came back to BCNC.

“I believe that BCNC is an organization that allows me to play a crucial role in helping Asian and immigrant families to settle here in the US. I also appreciate at BCNC we focus on the family holistically,” said Stephen.

In the next five years, Stephen wants to expand workforce development to Quincy in addition to maintaining a stable and effective program. Digital equity is another key area of focus to help immigrant adults thrive in their work and study.

“I feel like I’m making an impact on our students when I see students make progress academically and linguistically, get a job and feel like they belong as a part of the society,” said Stephen.
