Family Fun Run in Quincy Strengthens the Community
/On Saturday, October 19, 2024, the Family Fun Run returned for a second year to celebrate BCNC’s 10th anniversary in Quincy. Since 2014, BCNC has strengthened 10,000 Asian and immigrant participants through youth programs, English classes, and mental health support services.
The Family Fun Run was organized by a volunteer planning committee led by co-chairs Jon Eng and Jeanelle Tsai. The event took place at Quincy’s beautiful Merrymount Park through 3.1 miles of groomed trails and fields. A total of 117 joined in person and virtually for a day of community, wellness, and to raise funds to support Asian and new immigrant families. Runner times are posted here. Attendees replenished after the run with snacks and drinks donated by BJ’s Wholesale Club and Powerade. Runners also met and took pictures with Woodgy, the official mascot of the New England Free Jacks as well as won raffle prizes.
Thanks to our generous sponsors and donors, we raised $5,765 to support our services for immigrants.

Volunteers from BCNC’s Bamboo Circle and Rockland Trust, State Street Corporation, Arbella Insurance, Bain Capital, and Boston Red Sox helped to ensure the event went smoothly from setting up, creating posters, handing out waters, recording times, and cheering on runners as they passed the finish line.
Special thanks to the City of Quincy Parks and Forestry Department for their partnership. Thank you to our sponsors, supporters, staff members, and volunteers for making this event possible!
