Preparing Youth in Quincy to Enter the Workforce
This summer, youth in Quincy developed new skills and engaged the community in positions through the BCNC Teen Employment Program. The Teen Employment Program provides youth, ages 15-18 years old, work experience and professional skills. Youth are placed in positions at BCNC or with community partners and worked up to 25 hours a week during the summer. Youth also receive professional development training through workshops and company site visits.
Teaching Children Coding
Four youth worked as summer camp assistants at the Quincy Coders program, where they mentored younger participants in STEM topics, including coding and 3D design.
Designing the BCNC Youth Space
BCNC is expanding its youth program in Quincy! Four Quincy youth worked on the Designing Quincy Youth Space project. BCNC staff guided youth to create a new supportive environment for youth development.
Special thanks to the Van Otterloo Family Foundation for supporting the Teen Employment Program.
