Directors Earn Certificates in Nonprofit Management

Director of Adult Education and Workforce Initiatives, Shirley Doan, Director of Youth Program, Stephanie Fabro, and Operations Manager, Victoria Yue successfully completed the Institute of Nonprofit Practice’s Core Certificate Program in Nonprofit Management and Leadership. A year-long learning experience, the Core Program equips nonprofit, public and social impact leaders with the skills, knowledge, and networks they need to make strategic, mission-driven decisions that center diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB), and effect meaningful change in their organizations and beyond.

Shirley says, “Overall, the experience was illuminating. It was tremendously helpful to be in a space where I could connect to others outside BCNC, especially after last March. I really benefited from the peer learning aspect because everyone came from nonprofits of different missions, values, and budgets. Now, I'm constantly thinking about programs or ideas that others have successfully implemented and how we might bring them here to BCNC!”
