Congratulations Graduates of the Winter 2023 Cohort ESOL for Customer Service Training Program

BCNC’s ESOL for Customer Service Training Program Winter 2023 cohort wrapped up with a graduation to celebrate their achievements. Graduating students each gave a speech about their experience at the program.

Karene came to the U.S. from Haiti seeking for more opportunities and a better life for her son and herself. At BCNC, Karene was trained in customer service skills and is more confident in communicating in English. Her goal is to get a job in a hospital as a receptionist or a pharmacy technician.

BCNC helped me with my challenges and goals. I now know some new ways to approach or deal with customers. I really appreciate being a student in this program.

Katiuscia also immigrated from Haiti. Before coming to the U.S., she was a criminal justice lawyer and later worked as an elementary school teacher helping children with special needs. Even though she had many skills and work experience, finding a job in the U.S. has been a challenge for her. She is not giving up and she enrolled herself BCNC’s class.

Now that I’ve completed the customer service training, I hope to be hired as a medical assistant intern or patient technician. My ultimate goal is to become a nurse practitioner after that.

Aaliyah immigrated to the U.S. from China to be closer to family and to seek a better life. There were many challenges as she’s getting accustomed to life in the U.S, which is why she enrolled BCNC’s class.

Now that I’ve completed the Customer Service Class at BCNC, I hope to be hired this spring as a food service worker or patient transporter in a hospital. Then I hope to become a nurse or technician.

Daniela is from Colombia. She previously studied Business Administration and worked several jobs in her home country. She hopes to fulfill her dreams and have a better future in the U.S. Learning professional English was a challenge at first, but BCNC helped to improve her language skills. She hopes to get a job as an administrative assistant.

Learning a new language has not been so easy,  but I’ve improved a lot. Without a doubt, if you are motivated you can achieve all you want!

Nicole is also from Haiti. After arriving to the U.S., she worked 2 jobs and later got a certificate to kickstart a new career in healthcare. Because language is still a challenge, so she decided to enroll at BCNC. She hopes to work as a certified nursing assistant, specializing in hospice care.

BCNC has helped me with my challenges and goals because I learned a lot about solving problems with patients. BCNC taught me how to approach problems and work with customers.

BCNC’s ESOL for Customer Service Training Program is a free training for who are intermediate English language learners seeking full-time entry-level employment in the customer service industry. This program is funded by the City of Boston Mayor’s Office of Workforce Development, MassHire Metro North Workforce Board, and is a SNAP Path to Work program.
