BCNC Staff have a Retreat for Trainings and Team Building

At the end of June, the entire BCNC staff came together for the first time for a memorable and impactful all-staff retreat. Child care staff received training on having difficult conversations with parents, while other staff participated in a training on "Addressing Implicit Bias" led by YW Boston. BCNC founder Stephanie Fan shared BCNC history and inspiration. Teams showed off their creativity in presentations about their work, and then staff ended the day with fun activities.

Providing Culturally Tailored Mental Health First Aid

Thanks to funding from Boston Children’s Hospital’s Routh 128 Community Health Initiative program, BCNC developed the Mental Health First Aid Trainers Network for Chinese Speakers to enhance the impact of the Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) course. BCNC Family Services partnered with the National Council for Mental Wellbeing to provide a culturally-tailored, Chinese translation of the Mental Health First Aid course.
